Alan has worked in education for more than 25 years and almost exclusively in the field of SEND throughout the last 12 years. He is CEO and Co-Founder at Evidence for Learning (EfL), which is an app and platform for capturing and assessing learning where traditional assessment approaches don’t adequately reflect the true journey of the learner.

EfL is used by more than 80% of specialist schools and colleges in England, as well as hundreds of mainstream settings and has had a positive impact on the quality of education in hundreds of schools, as well as supported teaching and workforce development and capacity, providing a sustainable rich and comprehensive video-based infrastructure for reflective and inquiry-based CPD for teachers and support staff both within schools and across multi academy trusts.
